During a time when there is so much happening that is outside of our control, it can be therapeutic to do some activities and acts of service that are within our control. Giving back always gives me the warm and fuzzies but these days, doing something for someone else or to improve our environment feels extra good - we're all in this together!
If you have pictures of your family sharing kindness, or if you hear of additional projects, please post in the comments so that we can continue supporting each other and our community through this difficult time.

Trail Work & Clean Up - It's important to keep our lands clean and pick up anytime we're outside, but while we all have some extra time on our hands, try to pick a trail a week to take care of. Some kid-friendly trails include PRKR MTN Trails, ACT Trails, and Kilburn Crags. Don't limit yourself to these trails - you can help keep your community clean just by walking down the street!
Call a Neighbor or Loved One - This period of isolation is difficult for all of us but we can't spread germs over the phone! Take some time to reach out to neighbors or loved ones and check in. Seeing a smile over FaceTime or video call can make someone's entire day!
Paint Rocks - Finding a colorful rock with an affirming message on it can bring a smile to anyone's face. Find some rocks in your own backyard or while you're doing some trail work and paint them however you'd like. Scatter them around your community to spread some cheer.
Make Signs - Social distancing is hard! Help ease the pain by making some friendly signs to put outside or greet others with. Just remember to keep your safe social distance if you're displaying your signs in the community!
Support Local - Social distancing means that most of our stores and restaurants have had to close their doors for normal service. However, many are still open for curb-side orders and delivery options. Before assuming your favorite store or restaurant is closed, give them a call or check their Facebook page to see how you can support them. Some ideas below:
If you know of others, please send us a note or leave info in the comments so we can all stay up to date!
Do what you can, with what you have, where you are!
