This week with the Michael Phelps Foundation, we will focus on TRY, TRY, TRY...
...Try new things
...Try your best
...Try again
Fear of making a mistake
Pressure to be perfect
Fear of the unknown
I especially like the portion in the lesson that explains that a person can learn to handle mistakes and failures by using the word YET. For example: I am not able to ride my bike quite yet. I know that Michael Phelps always used that method. As he would set goals, he would not reach those goals with every swim. Instead of being discouraged, he would say to himself...Well I did not get the time I wanted YET but I can get back to practice and learn some new ways to get better before my next race. .
For these last months we have been challenged ! I think we all want to try and find ways to help ourselves stay calm and feel confident.. We must not give up but say to ourselves...I will keep trying to live into where I am today....I find this challenging but I am willing to TRY, TRY, TRY and I know you are too.
